From December 1 to 3, the 2023 China Structural Health Monitoring Technology Conference was held in Kunming, Yunnan. Professor Yan Zhenrong, director of the Key Laboratory of Decarbonization Technology for Mechanical Industry Boiler, head of the Institute of Intelligent Energy and Decarbonization Technology of the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, and vice president of the Institute, was invited to give a special report. The conference was hosted by researcher Ding Keqin, director of the State Market Supervision Structural Health Monitoring Technology Innovation Center.


It is reported that the 2023 China Structural Health Monitoring Technology Conference by the China Instrument Society equipment structural health monitoring and early warning branch, Kunming University of Science and Technology and the China Special Equipment Testing and Research Institute to lead the hosting of the conference, the theme of the conference for the "AI era - SHM as a big". The conference has 2 sub-theme reports, 2 invited reports, 90 special reports and a roundtable on the theme of "opportunities and challenges of structural health monitoring".


Prof. Yan Zhenrong made a presentation entitled "Comparative Study and Application of Laser Ultrasonic Surface Wave Identification of Metallic Tissue and Metallographic Lamination Method". The report mentioned that with the deepening of the goal of "carbon peak and carbon neutral", the long-cycle safe operation of high-end energy equipment under deep peaking faces new challenges. Vigorously developing the equipment structure health business and guaranteeing the safe operation of equipment structure is the basic guarantee for realizing the dual-carbon goal. For the depth of peak variable operating conditions and ultra-long service of high-end energy equipment multi-source damage monitoring technology challenges, Professor Yan Zhenrong team proposed the use of laser ultrasound surface wave multi-featured parameters of non-contact identification of metallurgical tissue damage evaluation technology, in order to timely monitoring of non-stop under the state of high-end energy equipment multi-source damage. The technology for electric power, petrochemical and other industries of high temperature and high pressure energy equipment under non-stop monitoring and detection of the problem provides an important engineering application of technical solutions, was highly recognized by the special inspection industry, the power industry and experts from Nanjing University, Tianjin University, Harbin Institute of Technology and other colleges and universities.


This report shows the latest achievements of the Key Laboratory of Boiler Decarbonization of Mechanical Industry and the Institute of Intelligent Energy Decarbonization Technology of the College to the academic world, reflecting the technical strength of the University in the field of equipment structural health monitoring technology, especially in the monitoring and early warning of multi-source damage in the non-downtime state of high-end energy equipment.
