On December 1, 2023, the Department of Mechanical Design of the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering held a training activity for graduate student tutors in 8B604, Jiaotong Building. Ning Feng, Director of Simulation and Analysis Department of Tianjin Lishen New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. was invited to give a lecture titled "Reflections on the Application and Development of Simulation Technology in the Development Process of Power Battery", which was attended by graduate student tutors and postgraduates from the Department of Mechanical Design and sister departments and offices.

Minister Ning Feng's report was divided into three parts to give a detailed introduction to the application and development of simulation technology in the development process of power battery. The first part of the importance of simulation technology in the field of lithium batteries, applications, software development trend was summarized. Simulation technology is crucial to the development of lithium battery technology, but at present there is still a big gap from the needs of the industry. The second part gave examples of the practical application of simulation technology in the field of lithium batteries, focusing on the shortcomings and opportunities of the electrochemical life model of lithium batteries. Finally, Ning Feng introduced the manufacturing process of electric core and the demand for simulation technology. There is a significant difference and opportunity between the research input of academia on simulation of manufacturing process of electric core and the demand of industry.

During the meeting, Minister Ning Feng exchanged views with the students and faculty on issues related to cell expansion, lithium precipitation, cell pre-tensioning force and cell winding stress.
